Welcome to Florida Monarch Research and Educational Project

About Us

A recent study has shown we have lost 80% of our Florida resident Monarch population since 2005

The Florida Monarch Research and Educational Project is a non profit organized to conduct research on the Florida Monarchs and to explore the reasons for the rapid decline of the resident population. The Project will provide education to schools, communities and to the general public on how to provide safe chemical free habitats that will provide healthy and necessary larval and butterfly plants.

You can help

We need participants from all over the state. You do not need to be a year round resident. Our monarchs here in Florida, south of Tampa do not migrate. You do not even need to be raising monarchs to participate. There is something for everyone to do to assist in data collection.
